Leadership : Philippe Mugnier

Philippe MugnierThroughout his varied career as entrepreneur and international marketer, Philippe Mugnier-Eté – Founder of ATTRACT, 50 years old –  has been at the heart of all aspects of marketing, PR and tourism and is a recognized international expert in place branding. Philippe was responsible for the worldwide promotion of France as a touristic destination (Atout France/French National Tourism Board, Regional Tourism Committees, alpine stations, leisure park, festivals…) and at the forefront of marketing iconic destinations & resorts spanning all 5 continents to French and European travelers (Abu Dhabi, Australia, Kenya, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Ecuador, Caribbean, Mauritius, Dominica, Madagascar, Philippines,  Pennsylvania, Martinique, Chile, Comoros…).

Philippe debuted his professional career at Adonet (French Association of National Foreign Tourism Boards), continuing as Marketing & PR Officer at a French Regional Tourism Board (the Auvergne) and with the new millennium Marketing & Sales Director then for 6 years as CEO of  the French leading company in destination marketing & PR: Interface Tourism Group (headquartered in France with branch offices in Italy, Spain, Belgium, Scandinavia, Russia and UAE).  All his career long, Philippe served as representative if not board member of various organizations: Visit USA Committee, Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGTLA), Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO).  Philippe is also one of the key contributors to a reference book dedicated to “Tourism Marketing” (DUNOD Publishing ), marketing professor at Paris-Gustave Eiffel University (Masters in luxury tourism and destination management), lecturer in other leading business school as well as marketing columnist at “Tendance Nomad”  and “” leading  trade magazine.  Piano and local history count among his passions as he already wrote 2 books (available on and launched a new collection of booklets highlighting the heritage of French destinations. French native – Philippe speaks fluent English, working German and Spanish.

Most important now, Philippe is from 2013 passionately committed as a freelance to the success of the ATTRACT, personal entrepreneurial adventure, uniting his skills and energizing his French and international network of professionals for very few privileged clients. Within his Paris based boutique company, he is passionate about the launching of brand new destinations in market that is promoting in person with few outsourced skills when necessary. He believes in “Small is beautiful” and in the interest of boutique destinations to be served by boutique structures with influent senior personalities directly in charge of accounts. ATTRACT very light structure costs and flexibility allow his clients to get the best possible return on investment of their budgets invested in market.

More than 30 years experience in international tourism companies, institutions and event management (Europ Assistance, iconic French ski, spa and seaside resorts, … ), marketing consulting (Horwath, …), start-up administration and expansion (Camping&CO, Holidays & Co/SmartBox group, Paris WelcomeCityLab – first world start-up incubator 100% dedicated to tourism…), lobbying and PR (Havas Public Relations), consulting for Convention & Visitors bureaus (Paris, Atout France, French regions ….), investors search (Real Estate Advisory Group, Caisse des Dépôts,….). Patrick is now responsible for the good administration of ATTRACT, its human resources, partners coordination, logistics, finances, strategic partnerships and growth not to mention his strong proximity with key opinion leaders and tourism industry captains that help generating opportunities for the benefit of ATTRACT’s clients influence.
